Illustrator Antonello Silverini’s visual for 2019 will be showcased in preview
The short film submission call for the 16th edition of Sedicicorto International Film Festival is officially open. The Festival will take place in Forlì, from 4th to 13th October 2019.
Authors, distributors and producers from all over the world can submit their short films until 30th May, on the online Sedicicorto accounts on the platforms Film Freeway or shortfilmdepot. The 7 main categories will be: Movie, Animalab, CortItalia, Animare, NO+D2, CortoInLoco, IranFest.
Forlì is getting ready to host the 16th Sedicicorto, which will feature a renowned collaboration. In fact, this year our visual 2019 was developed by the illustrator Antonello Silverini. Today, his work for the 2019 Festival will be presented in preview.
Antonello Silverini was born in Rome in 1966. He has worked with several illustrious newspapers, like the Corriere della sera’s periodical magazine La Lettura, Einaudi, Repubblica, Il Sole 24 Ore, Panorama, l’Espresso and The Boston Globe. He is the official illustrator of Philip K. Dick’s Italian edition book covers for the publishing house Fanucci,and the covers ofIan McEwan’s Italian edition books for the publishing house Einaudi. Silverini has always been a cinema enthusiast. He illustrated the posters of Viareggio Film Festival (in 2000), Courmayeur Film Festival (in 2007) andRome Film Festival (in 2012), for which he also created an animated ad.He has been awarded with the Zavrel Prize (2006) and Pictor Academy award (2005) in Turin. Furthermore, he won the 2016 MAM – Master in Arts and Crafts award in the Illustration category. In 2017 he was included in Luerzer’s Archive – 200 Best Illustrators Worldwide.
For the 16th Sedicicorto International Film Festival, Antonello Silverini designed his own version of Lumìn, the festival’s mascot. He drew inspiration from the main topic of the 2019 edition: responsible tourism.
Sedicicorto’s organisers will proudly promote Silverini’s illustrations during the Festival. An exhibit showcasing the artist’s work will be hosted from 4th to 13th October in the wonderful and newly renovated exhibition spaces of the Ex Palazzo del Monte di Pietà (the former Mount of Piety building) in Forlì.
