From 6th to 8th December Sedicicorto Forlì International Film Festival was the only Italian exhibitor to take part in the Shenzhen Internatioal Short Film Market of the 10° China International New Media Shortfilmn Festival.
This important partnership was started by Sedicicorto’s desire to launch an ambitious project focused on the promotion of the Italian short film on the Asian market. This project is called Cinamaitalia and it allows Sedicicorto to promote the Italian short film production, by also making the young and emerging Italian directors known in the People’s Republic of China.
China’s development shows high growth percentages and in the last 5 years the short film industry has became very popular.
In Shenzhen, it was possible to meet the coordinator of the Cinamaitalia project, Clara Longhi, who was able to give to the public and the other International exhibitors at the market the preview of a special selection of 11 Italian short films, chosen from the ones made between 2018 and 2019 and considered good representatives of the Italian short film industry.
There short films are: Egg, by Martina Scarpelli (who entered the Academy Award shortlist); Falene – Moths to flame by Marco Pellegrino and Luca Jankovic (Nastri d’Argento winner in 2019); Il ricordo di domani by Davide Petrosino; Indimenticabile by Gianluca Santoni (winner of the Cortitalia category at the 16th Sedicicorto Forlì International Film Festival); Mani Rosse by Francesco Filippi; Memorie di Alba by Andrea Martignoni and Maria Steinmetz; Piano terra by Natalino Zangaro; Pizza Boy by Gianluca Zonta (winner of the Mini Movie prize for the CortoInLoco category at the 16th Sedicicorto Forlì International Film Festival); Riccardo che rimbalzò sulle stelle byi Lana Vlady; She fights by Nicola Martini and Voler essere felici ad ogni costo by Michele Bertini Malgherini.
