Sedicicortoand Prem1ere Film set up a partnership for the realization of the Italian subtitles for the short film The Silent Child by Chris Overton and Rachel Stenton, which has been awarded from the Academy with the Award for the Best Live Action Short Film in 2018.
With the help of Alessandra Orlo, professional interpreter and translator in charge of the Internship and Subtitles Office at Sedicicorto, the Prem1ere Film gem brings in another resource for its widespread distribution on the occasion of the Festival in Italy.
Together with its two directors, The Silent Child was the highlightof the Prem1ere Film Platform presentation, which took place on May 14th at the Italian Pavillion during the Cannes Film Festival. The short film tells the story of a teacher who helps her homeschooled deaf-mute student to communicate with her family, in particular with her mother. Over time, with patience, the girl makes progress and becomes bilingual, communicating in both the British Sign Language and English against her mother’s will.
Overton and Shelton’s short film is part of the selection of the 15th Sedicicorto International Film Festival, that will take place in the city of Forlì from October 5th to 14th, 2018. During this Festival, Prem1Ere Film founder Roberto De Feo will also serve as jury member for the 1st edition of Italia Film FEDIC, the national festival which will see the presence of several authors from different FEDIC (Federazione Italiana dei Cineclub) Film Clubs.
The partnership between Sedicicorto International Film Festival and Prem1ere Film proves that the synergy between festivals and distribution companies is necessary and productive for the Italian movie scene.
