SEDICICORTO FORLI’ INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL PRESENTS THE ONLINE FESTIVAL “MOVIE AT HOME”. KIDS WILL HAVE THEIR OWN DEDICATED SPACE, THANKS TO THE VALUABLE COLLABORATION WITH CSC ANIMAZIONE.
Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia Animazione, the experimental centre of animation in Turin, will present a series of shorts for the Sedicicorto Forlì International Film Festival.
Similarly to other cinema festivals in Italy, Sedicicorto Forlì International Film Festival follows the evolution of the Covid-19 health crisis with the utmost attention, waiting to know if it will be possible to organize its 17th edition in the city of Forlì from October 2nd to October 11th in complete safety.
In the meantime, ever since the first containment measures were issued (in Emilia-Romagna – the administrative region where this highly anticipated and very important festival takes place – these measures are active since February 24th 2020), Sedicicorto Forlì International Film Festival has set itself up with the task of keeping in contact with its audience, that is why it endorses the #iorestoacasa (I stay at home) social campaign and presents to its subscribers a constantly updated and revised online movie selection. The name of this initiative is Movie at Home: a catalog of thematic short movies (e.g. the ones of the annual selection Sbellicati) and quizzes specifically designed for the audience (e.g. Ridi che ti Passa).
Sedicicorto International Film Festival has always cared deeply about promoting cinema to the younger generations and, with the Easter festivities approaching, we have decided to expand our online selection of content for children. We can do that thanks to the partnership with the prestigious Centro Sperimentale di Cinematografia – chapter of Piemonte, Animation, who have selected ad hoc some of the short movies created throughout the years by their students. CSC educational coordinator Chiara Magri had this to say with regards to the chosen shorts:
Of course animation is not only for children, but these short films have children as their intended audience. These are six projects created by our school as graduation films and are distributed mainly in specialized international film festivals.
Gianluca Castellini, Sedicicorto Forlì International Film Festival Artistic Director, commented on this collaboration with CSC Animazione thanks to which the idea of a children program has turned into reality:
Over the years we have always tried to place extra focus on the promotion of short films to the younger audience. So, we could not help but notice the dynamic productivity of the animation section of CSC Turin. Last year we took great honor and pleasure in seeing Chiara Magri as our juror for the 16th edition. And this year, thanks to the contribution of their students, we take even more pride in offering a quality program to our children and their families in this difficult time for our country.
Starting from April 3rd at 12.00, on the Sedicicorto Forlì International Film Festival Facebook page (www.facebook.com/sedicicorto), on the Festival’s official internet website (www.sedicicorto.it) and on the web-magazine Kontainer16 ‘s page (https://kontainer16.com/), you will find the links to watch the selected short movies for free.
