Covid-19 emergency didn’t stop the celebrations for the 10th anniversary of Animare Cartoon Film Festival, a competition for the best international short films for children. The film event is organised by Sedicicorto Forlì International Film Festival, in partnership with Cooperativa Stabilimenti Balneari di Cesenatico. Unfortunately, this year’s edition couldn’t be held in Cesenatico, the historical venue of Animare. In fact, despite the organisers’ best efforts to find a way to host the event in person, this event, which has now become one of the most popular summer events in the Riviera Romagnola, can no longer be safely carried out due to the virus. However, the arrival of hundreds of support letters by the parents whose children had participated in past editions, along with the priceless collaboration of our prestigious partner Il Cinemino from Milan, has convinced Sedicicorto not to give up on its animation event.
The 10th edition of Animare Cartoon Film Festival will happen. It will last a month, from July 16 to August 16, and it will be completely available to watch on Il Cinemino’s website. The selected 16 short films for 2020 have been chosen among 1599 works coming from 106 different countries and from the best animation schools in the world. Each year, in fact, the Festival is an amazing opportunity for animation schools to promote their students’ works.
On Thursday July 16, 2020, on IlCinemino@Home the entire selection will be available for a month, after a small subscription fee of 1,99 euros to guarantee the protection of the competing short films. You will have the chance to vote for your favourite film, contributing with your views to elect the winner of Animare Cartoon Film Festival’s 10th edition. The most voted will not only win the economic prize provided by Sedicicorto Forlì International Film Festival, but also the Premio CineMini, which awards the winner a showing in the famous Milan cinema.
